Kelvatek announces its newest member of the team

Kelvatek, 16th November 2021

As the Kelvatek business continues to grow and develop, we are delighted to introduce the latest member of our team, Barry Forster, who will be joining as an Account Director. Barry joins Kelvatek with more than 25 years of experience in the UK utilities & energies industry and adds additional experience of the renewables industry to our team.

Barry’s career started as an IT graduate for Northern Electric before progressing through several roles including the Head of Supplier Hub in metering where he was responsible for Revenue Leakage and Settlements and eventually progressing to Head of Debt and Collections for both Domestic and Business Customers. With a number of roles under his belt, Barry credits his success to “empowering people to do the best job possible, managing data efficiently and effectively and always striving to put customers at the heart of everything.”

Barry was ready for a new challenge and applied for the position at Kelvatek. Outlining his thoughts on what attracted him to the company, “Before joining, I knew a number of highly respected industry experts who spoke so passionately about what they were doing here at Kelvatek, then upon meeting the team it became clear to me I wanted to be a part of it. Everyone is so driven and determined to collaborate with their customers and that aligns with my ethos and experience”.

Barry’s role was created as part of our corporate vision which is focused on supporting our customers in the drive towards the sustainability and digitisation of the energy industry.

Expanding our presence in GB, Barry’s focus will be two-fold. He will work closely with his DNO clients to support their strategic vision for ED2 as well as driving the performance of their networks through our range of cutting-edge products, data-driven solutions and services. Barry will also develop our footprint in the UK renewable energy industry, working to connect Kelvatek with new clients and promote our market-leading transformer monitoring solution.

With the energy industry undergoing its most significant transformation in many years, we asked Barry what he thinks will be a key enabler of this change, “Data will be pivotal in helping our clients navigate through this level of transformation. Providing insights on energy consumption, network capacity and the health of assets will help ensure networks are ready and able to meet the demands of today and tomorrow”.

The introduction of this new role to Kelvatek highlights our belief that renewable energy is no longer a choice, but a necessity in delivering the net-zero agenda. We’re ready to help the Network Operators make improvements in the way renewable energy is delivered to homes and business by providing critical monitoring and insights that help reduce disruptions, target interventions and ultimately lower costs.
