25th March 2024

Did you know that we undertake all stages of product delivery in-house, including research & development, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, calibration, and delivery?

To ensure quality and seamless operations, all Kelvatek equipment is meticulously manufactured, assembled, tested and packaged at multiple strategic locations throughout the UK. Our primary manufacturing hub is located at our state-of-the-art, 60,000sq. ft facility in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. This facility serves as the backbone of our operations, where cutting-edge technologies and industry-leading expertise converge.

So, how do we maintain high quality standards during our manufacturing and production processes? At the heart of the company’s operational philosophy lies continuous improvement. Some methods employed include Kaizen which means working together at all levels of the business to implement change for better and lean manufacturing which involves the elimination of eight different waste types.

Recognising the reality that errors can occur, we proactively embrace Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. This innovative approach helps us pinpoint potential pitfalls in our processes, empowering our team to implement preventive measures. At Kelvatek, this philosophy is more than just a practice; it's woven into the very fabric of our culture, ensuring we deliver the utmost in quality and reliability to our customers.

We have a wide range of accreditations which include ISO9001, a Level 5 award in Productivity Improvement Practice and a Silver Membership of KeyOstas, the UK’s leading Health & Safety and Environmental training provider. The data collected by our devices is overarched by an ISO27001 certified Information Security Management System and Cyber Essentials Certification. We have recently been accredited with Made in Britian status which is the official mark of British manufacturing. We are extremely proud of our Made in Britain status as it highlights our commitment to developing and producing a high standard of products for the UK electricity industry.

As well as our in-house manufacturing and production facilities we have established a dedicated Maintenance and Servicing Centre in Coventry, where our skilled technicians ensure customer products are up-to-date, safe, and calibrated. Every unit is given a full visual, functional, and diagnostic check by qualified technicians. Any upgrades to software, firmware or hardware are carried out and the unit is brought back up to current specification.

Once the units have been repaired or serviced, they will pass to quality control, whereby they will be given a thorough inspection, functional testing and ensure all the relevant paperwork is present and correct. Every customer has KPIs or SLAs which we work diligently to meet, ensuring a speedy return of the customer’s equipment. We are certified for compliance with ISO 14001: 2015 and ISO 18001: 2007 standards for environmental management systems, occupational health, and safety assessment. Sustainability is a vital part of our operations; we ensure this focus through WEEE compliance and by recycling of end-of-life equipment.

What impact does all of this have on our customers? Well, our in-house capabilities mean we have complete control over quality, ensuring each and every product that leaves our manufacturing and servicing facilities adheres to our extremely high standards. Being a UK manufacturer helps us effectively manage supply chains; including navigate some of the toughest supply chain shortages experienced by the industry over the past few years. Finally, it allows us to contribute directly to the UK economy and means we can make a real impact in local communities as a key employer across each of our UK sites.

With these strategically distributed centres of excellence, we guarantee exceptional products and services that meet the diverse needs of our valued customers.
