Camlin Group Welcomes Visit from His Royal Highness, the Duke of Gloucester
16th October 2023
We were pleased to welcome His Royal Highness, the Duke of Gloucester to our Lisburn HQ. After a greeting from civic leaders, including Sir Jeffery Donaldson, MP, the Duke toured Camlin’s facilities and saw our groundbreaking technologies which help to optimise the critical infrastructure that people, cities and communities around the world depend on.
The focus of the visit was on new hardware, software and service offerings from our UK Energy Business, Kelvatek, who have been pioneering the use of digital solutions based on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques to improve network performance and help to support the decarbonisation of heat and transport.
The Duke was shown how underground cable faults occur in real life and how Kelvatek’s monitoring and management solutions provide savings for the UK’s energy network operators, as well as helping the energy infrastructure to run more smoothly and efficiently, keeping the lights on and delivering Net Zero.
The Duke also discussed with our Camlin team its continued investment to drive innovation, growth and skills development in Northern Ireland and to continue its legacy as a trusted world leading provider of energy grid solutions.
Peter Cunningham, Chief Executive of the Camlin Group, commented:
“We are delighted to have welcomed His Royal Highness to Camlin HQ today. It was a fantastic opportunity for us to exhibit our cutting-edge work and discuss how we are supporting jobs, innovation, and Northern Ireland’s economy, as well as the transition to Net Zero.”
Gordon Brown, Managing Director of Kelvatek, commented:
“It was an honour to host His Royal Highness and we were very grateful for the interest he showed in our technologies and facilities, as well as how we contribute to helping society’s critical infrastructure continue to perform at a high level.”
